Jewelz by King's Hotel, a premium 5-star boutique luxury hotel owned by a Queens College classmate Harrinand Persaud and his family. The modern 9-story property offers 61 sleek rooms, an international steakhouse, a rooftop cocktail lounge, and a fitness center, all within walking distance of local embassies and the historic Promenade Gardens.
Our friendship extends from attending West Ruimveldt Primary School with our famed school teacher Sir. Wilfred Success at the helm. Mr. Success demanded excellence and it was no coincidence why parents begged him to admit their child to his class or lessons. Mr. Success's track record for sending his students to top Schools in Guyana is unmatched.
Our classmates in Guyana and around the world exemplify that excellence. Jewelz by King's Hotel is no exception, masterfully detailed in architecture and service it stands as a blue print for what excellence looks like in Georgetown. Harrinand and his Wife Renata and the enter family crafted this Hotel with detail and beauty that's world class.
The Hotel boasts the following:

The Realm Steakhouse & Sky Bar: Located on the upper floors (8th and 9th), this is an upscale, fine-dining restaurant that blends a modern steakhouse experience with Asian-fusion flair. It features dramatic 360-degree panoramic views of downtown Georgetown. The menu includes high-end items like USDA prime steaks, A5 Wagyu nigiri, tomahawk steaks, miso honey black cod, and local twists like oxtail pepperpot dumplings.
Champoreau: Located downstairs within the hotel, this is a cozy French-fusion bistro and lobby café. It specializes in coffee, light bites, and full breakfast options (such as their highly recommended avocado toast), as well as lunch and dinner paired with fine wines.
The Luxury Penthouse: Also perched at the top of the 9-story building is the hotel's exclusive luxury penthouse suite, which features private terrace spaces overlooking the city.
We stayed in a beautiful suite with full kitchen, living room, bedroom and amazing bath and shower.
I was also delighted to connect with former classmates, Learie Barclay (Director of Operations at Roraima Group of Companies – Roraima Airways) and Devindra Kissoon (Founding Partner London House Chambers/ Orica Explosives Guyana) who joined us later in the day. We enjoyed sharing fond memories and catching up on our respective professional and personal journeys.
Next in Part 3 we explore Georgetown, Papa John's Restaurant and the Zoo and Gardens.
